02For investors

A dedicated acquisition function, without hiring one.

Family offices and investment companies often want to own good, established businesses but lack the people to find them, assess them and stay involved afterwards. i8 next does that work under an ongoing, contracted mandate.

01What a mandate covers

What you are actually paying for.

  1. 01

    An agreed investment thesis

Sector, geography, size range, ownership horizon and what you will not buy, written down and signed off before any outreach.

  2. 02

    Owner introductions

Direct, discreet conversations with owners of companies that match the thesis, mainly in northern Sweden. Usually before a company is on the market.

  3. 03

    Screening and quality

Each lead is checked against the thesis. You see the ones worth your time and a short note on why the others were dropped.

  4. 04

    Financial review

Earnings quality, cash flow, working capital and the assumptions a price would rest on, prepared for your own advisers to verify.

  5. 05

    Operating-leader assessment

Whether the current management can carry the business, and if not, who could. Recruitment is scoped separately if needed.

  6. 06

    Structured recommendations

A written case per opportunity: the business, the owner's situation, key risks, a leadership plan and a recommended next step.

  7. 07

    Board support after closing

A board seat or adviser role, monthly reporting, an operating rhythm and preparation of selective add-ons.

02How it is paid

Fees for the work now. Equity only if earned.

Scope, term and fees are set for each partner around the thesis and the volume of work.

  1. 01

    Now: a fixed mandate

A monthly or quarterly development fee for the agreed scope. This is what pays for the work, whether or not a deal closes.

  2. 02

If negotiated: transaction or oversight fees

Execution work on a specific acquisition, or ongoing board work afterwards, can carry its own fee when agreed in writing.

  3. 03

    Optional later: sponsor equity

Where it is earned and agreed deal by deal, i8 next may co-invest or hold a minority sponsor stake. Never assumed, never a condition.

03What engagement looks like

A thesis first, then a steady rhythm.

  1. 1An introductory conversation about what you want to own and why.
  2. 2A written thesis and mandate: scope, criteria, decision process, fees and term.
  3. 3Regular pipeline reviews with written cases for the opportunities that pass screening.
  4. 4You decide whether to invest. After closing, board-level support continues if agreed.
